A common spring wildflower in our mountainous woods and one of the earliest to bloom - often in mid-February. Spring Beauty is one of those plants that you have to really "get down on" to appreciate fully. From normal standing height it may appear almost completely white, but a closer inspection often reveals the kind of intricate pattern visible on these flowers.
